Vintage Wine Cellar Tastings: Cortenova Montepulciano d'Abruzzo
Name: Cortenova Montepulciano d'Abruzzo
Category: Montepulciano
Region: Abruzzo, Italy
Year: 2013
Price: $7.95
Winery Review: Wild berry, chopped mint, sun baked earth and violet aromas meld together on this solid savory red. The juicy straightforward palate doles out ripe black cherry, crushed raspberry, anise and cinnamon alongside chewy tannins.
My Review: This full-bodied red wine had a beautiful red and purple color to it. It had a lot going on with it since it was pretty flavorful. It had a rich fruit flavor and was pretty bold at the same time. It was a little dry but the flavor made me get past the tannins. I would love to pair this wine up with steak.
