Vintage Cellar Tastings: Oxford Landing Viognier
Name: Oxford Landing Viognier
Category: Viognier
Region: Southern Australia
Year: 2014
Price: $13
Winery Review: This wine may not be quite as rich or expressive as the other Viogniers in the Yalumba stable, but it's still an attractive effort. Pineapple and apricot flavors pick up hints of gingery spice on the vibrant finish.
My Review: This was the first wine given to us when we reached the Wine Cellar. It had a pretty strong fruity smell that could not be ignored. When I took the first sip of the wine, the peachy flavor was what I could really taste in the wine. After the second sip, I was able to taste its silky , " honey like" texture accompanied with its light fruity flavor. It was a pretty good, non acidic white wine which I would love to drink by itself.
