Vintage Wine Cellar Tasting : Grand Cru Pinot Noir
Name: Grand Cru Pinot Noir
Category: Pinot Noir
Region : California, USA
Year: 2014
Price: $5.95
Winery Review: This ruby-colored wine has aromas of raspberry, cherry and a hint of vanilla. Flavors of cherry and plum lead to a soft velvety finish. This wine can be enjoyed by itself. It is also an excellent accompaniment with appetizers and main courses. This wine goes well with Brie, goat cheese and smoked salmon, lamb shanks and pork tenderloin.
My Review: From the videos that I have watched for quizzes, I came to know that Pinot Noir was a light colored red grape. Therefore, this wine was a light colored red wine at the very first look. The aroma of this wine was very citrusy and cherry like. At the very first sip, it was juicy as well as smooth. I loved how fruity it tasted, even though it was pretty dry. The wine had a rich and vibrant flavor to it and could be enjoyed on its own. However, if I had to pair it up with an entree, I would love to try it with baked ham or a pasta.
