Vintage Wine Tastings: Yellowtail Shiraz Grenache
Name: Yellowtail
Category: Shiraz Grenache
Region: Casella, Australia
Year: 2015
Price: $14
Winery Review: A classic blend of Shiraz and Grenache, with the raspberries, blackcurrant, licorice and spice characteristics of the Shiraz complementing the upfront cherry and cola flavors of the Grenache. The balanced wine offers earthy tones, strawberry aromas and vibrant acidity.
My Review: This wine had a very beautiful ruby red color. When I took the first whiff of this wine, I could smell its soil like earthy tones. The taste of this wine was exactly how it smelled. It was extremely earthy but also had hints of acidic flavors. I would love to have this wine with cheesy lasagna.
