I got to go to The Vintage Cellar in Blacksburg and try a couple of wines. Were served two white wines and three Red wines. It was a wonderful experience trying different kinds of wines since I have little to no experience with wines. We were served white wines which were then followed by the red ones.
- The very first wine that we got to try was El Cortijillo Verdejo. The wine belongs to La Mancha, Spain. The wine tasted pretty dry and wasn't sweet. It tasted kind of sour and a little acidic. I would want to pair it up with risotto or seafood. It would go pretty well with seafood.
- We were then given the second white wine which was called Pieter Cruythoff Chenin Blanc which belongs to Swartland, South Africa. The wine was sweeter when compared to El Cortijillo but still tasted dry to me. It was less acidic.
- Next we were served the red wines. It was called Finca del Castillo Tempranillo from La Mancha, Spain. This wine tasted strong and had a distinct after taste. It was really dry and not fruity.
- The fourth red wine that we got to try was Avery Quinn Zinfandel 2013 from Santa Rosa, California. It was fruitier and sweeter than Finca del Castillo. This was my favorite wine out of all the other ones that I tried. I would love to order this wine with some spaghetti with red sauce or Alfredo Sauce.
- The last Red Wine that I tried was Dana Sol Shiraz, Petite Syrah from California, USA. This wine was the sweetest wine that I have ever had. It was smooth and pretty fruity compared to all of the wines that I tried that day.
